Summary
Typical questions
• I need a list of recruitment agencies?
• Can you tell me where to look for … jobs?
Considerations
There are numerous places where jobs are advertised. For instance, there are a number of specialized newspapers on the market that are devoted to advertising jobs in specific regions; see Willings press guide for title details. In addition, many of the trade and professional journals have a job section as do the national and local newspapers. Finally, there is the internet. There are hundreds of job sites, some better than others: it is probably useful to look at and bookmark a few which you feel would be beneficial to your library users. You may be asked about employment agencies, which can usually be found listed in the Yellow Pages. For research into job titles and social grades a useful book is Occupation grouping: a job dictionary (2006) 6th edn, Market Research Society.
