Summary
Over the past 15 years, vitrification has become a well-established and globally used procedure that allows important expansion of therapeutic strategies when IVF is used to treat infertility. Vitrification of human blastocysts allows us to maximize the potential for conception and prevents wastage of embryos. This chapter is written in a kind of ’recipe’ style by revealing step-by-step the application of this vitrification technology for cryopreserving human blastocysts. Provided data demonstrate the simplicity but also the robustness of this technique for post-compaction human embryo cryopreservation.
