The archbishop's mandate for a convocation on 31 May

Venerabili in Christo patri Domino Wulstano, Dei gratia Wigorniensi episcopo, Radulphus eadem permissione Londoniensis episcopus salutem et sincerae dilectionis continuum incrementum. Mandatum recepimus continens hunc tenorem:

Iohannes, permissione divina Cantuariensis archiepiscopus, totius Angliae primas et apostolicae sedis legatus, venerabili fratri nostro Domino Radulpho, Dei gratia Londoniensi episcopo, salutem et fraternam in Domino caritatem. Praesentis mensis Aprilis die vicesima quinta [25 April 1344] literas recepimus regias quarum tenor talis est:

Edwardus, Dei gratia rex Angliae et Franciae et dominus Hiberniae, venerabili in Christo patri Iohanni, eadem gratia archiepiscopo Cantuariensi, totius Angliae primati, salutem. Quia super quibusdam arduis negotiis nos et statum regni nostri Angliae, honorem ecclesiae ac regimen et defensionem subiecti nobis populi summe concernentibus ac evitandis periculis nobis et nostris imminentibus in hac parte ut communibus periculis per consimilia communia obvietur consilium, auxilium et avisamentum vestrum ac suffraganeorum vestrorum ac cleri vestrae diocesis et provinciae habere volumus evicino, vobis specialiter in fide et dilectione quibus nobis tenemini rogando, mandamus quod ad diem Lunae proximo post festum Sanctae Trinitatis proximo futurum [31 May 1344] dictos suffraganeos vestros, decanos et priores ecclesiarum cathedralium, abbates etiam et priores alios electivos necnon archidiaconos, capitula, conventus et collegia, clerumque cuiuslibet diocesis vestrae provinciae ad congregandum coram vobis aut commissariis vestris in ea parte deputandis in ecclesia Sancti Pauli Londoniarum more solito convocari faciatis, ita quod vos et ipsi sitis tune ibidem super dictis negotiis cum deputandis per vos si praesentes non fueritis tractaturi, vestrumque consilium et auxilium [167v] impensuri ulteriusque facturi quod tune ibidem contigerit ordinari. Et hoc sicut nos et honorem nostrum ac salvationem et defensionem regni nostri diligitis nullatenus omittatis. Teste rege apud Westmonasterium, vicesimo secundo die Aprilis anno regni nostri Angliae decimo octavo, regni vero nostri Franciae quinto [22 April 1344].

Quocirca vestrae fratemitati committimus et mandamus quatenus venerabiles fratres nostros coepiscopos electos et confirmatos et suffraganeos nostrae Cantuariensis ecclesiae absentiumque, vicarios si qui fuerint citetis seu citari faciatis peremptorie et per eos decanos et priores ecclesiarum cathedralium, abbates etiam et priores aliosque electivos sub se plenum conventum habentes, necnon archidiaconos, capitula, conventus et universa collegia non exempta, clerumque cuiuslibet diocesis nostrae provinciae antedictae citari peremptorie faciatis,
