[1. Attachment of clerks for not making hue and cry.]
Si fur vel latro vel aliquis feloniam committens transitum fecerit per loca ubi aliquis praelatus vel clericus infra sacros [ordines] constitutes existat, qui clamorem si non fecerit, per quern clamorem fur vel latro feloniamve committens capi possit, praelatus vel clericus praedictus attachiatur per ministros saeculares et carceri mancipatibur, sicut patet de quodam praelato de Esmayn incarcerato apud Roscre[a] per ministros domini regis.
Responsum. Si simpliciter ex causa tali respondetur quod non est incarcerandus, sed si subflierit legitima potest. Sciatur ergo ratio captionis et fiet iustitia.
Sequitur responsio per regem. Rex vult quod nullus clericus (ut praemittitur) arrestetur in tali casu vel clamor huiusmodi levetur per eum aut ea de causa in aliquo [modo?]… seu licet clamorem non levaverit [occurritur].
[2. Necessaries for fugitives to churches.]
Item, si quis ad ecclesiam pro quoquam delicto confugerit, non permittitur per ministros laicales quod necessaria et victualia per quemcunque… confiigienti ministrentur, sub poena certa firmiter iniugenda. Sed in ipsa ecclesia compedibus confugientem detineri facerint… apud Lochrech [Loughrea] Clonfertensis diocesis. Responsum. Multa pro immunitate ecclesiae regis et regni tempore et loco guerrinis permittenda sunt quae alias permitti non debent. Inquiratur… de facto et fiet iustitia.
Sequitur alia responsio per regem. Rex vult quod huiusmodi fugitivus ad ecclesiam bene custodiatur, eo modo quo ingressus fuerit uque ad terminum debitum, et habeat victualia. Et si ecclesiam post lapsum termini secundum legem evacuare recusaverit, victualia subtrahantur eidem.
[3. Ill treatment of clerks arrested.]
Item clerici ad querelam aliquorum per praedictos ministros incarcerati ita graviter et vili carcere tenentur quod ubi legitime de crimine sibi imposito coram suis praelatis se purgare possent non audiuntur sed metu poenarum et corporum suorum cruciatuum finem vel redemptionem in contemptum clavium ecclesiae et ordinis clericalis non modicum praeiudicium facere compelluntur. Et si praelati debitum suum officium exercuerint attachiantur et amerciantur sicut nuper accidit in diocesibus Fernensi et Darensi.
