The diocesan synod of Armagh inter Anglicos, Monday 3 July 1559
[218] Synodus cleri Armachani inter Anglicos celebrata coram Domino Terentio decano Armachano custode spiritualitatis et spiritualis iurisdictionis ecclesiae cathedralis et metropoliticae ac totius Hiberniae primatialis, Armachana sede ibidem post mortem reverendissimi in Christo patris ac domini Domini Georgii Dowdall archiepiscopi Armachani totius Hiberniae primatis ultimi incumbentis ibidem vacante seu nondum plene consulta, in ecclesia parochiali Sancti Petri de Drogheda Armachanae dioecesis tertio die mensis Iulii anno Domini 1559, celebrata missa de Spiritu Sancto per Magistrum Rolandum [Moran] rectorem de Clonmor, et solemnitate habitaque processione more debito et consueto per villam [219] cum solemnitate cleri et maioris villae, reversaque ad ecclesiam, cantato hymno ‘Veni Creator Spiritus', cum his peractis, dictoque custode ante summum altare iudicialiter sedente, praeconizatisque de clero praeconizandis et vocandis ipsisque per maiore parte comparentibus, dictus custos adhuc expectandos absentes monuit omnes praesentes quatenus proponerent si quas habent querelas in scriptis et haec et omnia alia proponenda et facienda eandem synodum continuavit in eodem loco usque pulsationem campanae et horae suae sessionis ibidem post nonas istius diei.
Qua hora adveniente, dictoque custode in eodem loco iudicialiter sedente, praeconizatis de clero praeconizandis ipsisque pro parte non comparentibus prout in rotulo plenius continetur, factaque exhortatione et ceremonia per eundem custodem ad informationem cleri, propositisque certis supplicationibus, habitaque definitione super eisdem.
