Celebrating 25 Years of the GLJ
19 Sep 2024

We are delighted to be celebrating 25 years of the German Law Journal and 5 years of the GLJ - Cambridge University Press partnership.

This will be marked by a special event on 20 September 2024 at the Harnack Haus in Berlin (reserve a slot here).

The German Law Journal is a pioneering open-access forum for the publication of scholarship and commentary on comparative, European, and international law, established by founding editors Russell A. Miller and Peer C. Zumbansen.  It has been online and freely available since 1999.  Founded as a transatlantic newsletter on developments in German law, the GLJ has secured a place among the world's leading law reviews disseminating scholarship across borders. The Journal combines high-quality theoretical research with reports on current developments and thematic special issues. Pursuing this agenda, the GLJ has gained a reputation for innovative publishing - linking cutting-edge, border-crossing scholarship with open access and speed to publication.

Since 2019, the German Law Journal has been published by Cambridge University Press on behalf of the German Law Journal e.V, a non-profit association under German law registered at Amtsgericht Wiesbaden, VR 7520.

This unique collaboration has remained true to the GLJ's original spirit of open scholarship in law. All authors accepted for publication in the GLJ can publish on an open-access basis, regardless of their funding status or affiliation. It is both free to read and without barriers to publication.
