On 16 October - 19 October 2023, the 5th International Symposium on High Power Laser Science and Engineering (HPLSE2023) & Celebration on the 10th Anniversary of the journal High Power Laser Science and Engineering (HPL) took place in Suzhou, China. 

The journal has made great achievement in the past decade with the continuous efforts from the Editors-in-Chief, Editorial Board members and each author. 

At the forum, HPL launched two awards: HPLSE Outstanding Contribution Award and Excellent Article for HPLSE 10th Anniversary. 

The journal has built its reputation in high power laser fields with the great supports from these dedicated experts and many authors.

HPLSE Outstanding Contribution Award

A total of 16 experts including Colin Danson, Jianqiang Zhu, Ioan Dancus, Gonçalo Figueira, Leonida A. GIZZI, Joachim Hein, Shigeo Kawata, Yutong Li, Xiaoyan Liang, Paul McKenna, Tomas Mocek, Charlotte Palmer, Baifei Shen, Martin Smrz, Zhengming Sheng, Yingying Wang from the HPL Editorial Board received HPLSE Outstanding Contribution Award.

The Award signifies the recognition and appreciation for their exceptional work. 

In particular, the Editor-in-Chief Jianqiang Zhu visited HiLASE Center in the Czech Republic to present certificates to Tomas Mocek and Martin Smrz (pictured above). We are truly grateful for their supports.
