The structuring effects of social control

Summary

In proposing a widened concept of social control, the author supports the microcriminological theory of rational choice by the offender, and illustrates on the macrocriminological level, the hypothesis that social control has structural effects on the distribution, evolution, and severity of crime rates.

A través de la proposición del concepto amplio de control social, el autor adhiere a una teoría micro-criminológica de las elecciones hechas por el delincuente e ilustra, a nivel macro-criminológico, la hipótesis que el control social provoca efectos estructuradores sobre la distribución, la evolución y la gravedad de las tasas de criminalidad.
