This first issue of 2022 comes to you with papers from across disciplines and around the world. Over the past 2 years, in unprecedented times, law and society scholars have not only persevered in their important scholarship but also continued to be generous colleagues as special issue editors, reviewers and participants on the editorial and editorial advisory boards.

This new volume reflects the input of new voices both in print and behind the scenes. Elizabeth Mertz and Jon Gould transitioned off the editorial board; we miss their wisdom and insights, and we wish them well in their next chapters. Deepa Das Acevedo and Kathryne M. Young have joined the editorial board, and Emily Denne has joined as editorial assistant.

I am grateful to all of you for your contributions to the journal, to the law and society field, and to the critical issues our community explores and illuminates. Looking forward!
