On a conjecture of Barnes and Swinnerton-Dyer

Abstract

The second minimum of the form x2 − 23y2 is evaluated and shown to be non-isolated, thus exhibiting a possibility conjectured by Barnes and Swinnerton-Dyer in 1952.
