With a tenure spanning over more than two decades, Professor Maria Shevtsova will be completing her role as Editor-in-Chief of New Theatre Quarterly (NTQ) at the end of 2024 and transitioning to the title of Editor-in-Chief Emerita. Cambridge University Press is now inviting applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief. A team of Co-Editors will also be considered.
The deadline for applications is June 24, 2024.
New Theatre Quarterly provides a vital international forum where theatrical scholarship and practice can meet and where prevailing dramatic assumptions can be subjected to vigorous critical questioning. It shows that theatre history has a contemporary relevance, that theatre studies need a methodology and that theatre criticism needs a language. The journal publishes news, analysis, debate and expansion of vision and theatre practice in all its forms within the field of theatre and performance studies, and interdisciplinary and cross-cultural research with a theatre/performance focus.
Interested applicants should send a curriculum vita and cover letter along with an abbreviated development plan (not to exceed two pages) and the names and email addresses of three references, to Amy Laurent at Cambridge University Press (details below).
