La Revista International anunció, en su número anterior, que un nuevo plan operacional trazado por el CICR para un período de seis meses fue presentado al Gobierno de la República Popular de Angola para aprobación. Ahora bien, el Comité Internacional publicó, el 26 de abril pasado, el comunicado de prensa que reproducimos.
En vísperas de la retirada, a finales de marzo, de las tropas sudafricanas que garantizan la seguridad y se encargan de la administración de los campamentos de personas desplazadas, situados en la frontera meridional de Angola, el CICR ha intervenido, a la vez en Ginebra, ante la Misión Permanente de la República Sudafricana y, en Luanda, ante las autoridades de la República Popular de Angola, para llamar la atención de ambos Gobiernos sobre los peligros que podrán correr aquellas personas en el período de transición antes de que lleguen las autoridades angoleñas.
