In this paper, we study the $(s, C(s))$-Harnack inequality in a domain $G\subset \mathbb {R}^n$ for $s\in (0,1)$ and $C(s)\geq 1$ and present a series of inequalities related to $(s, C(s))$-Harnack functions and the Harnack metric. We also investigate the behavior of the Harnack metric under K-quasiconformal and K-quasiregular mappings, where $K\geq 1$. Finally, we provide a type of harmonic Schwarz lemma and improve the Schwarz–Pick estimate for a real-valued harmonic function.

We study a nonlinear Beltrami equation $f_\theta =\sigma \,|f_r|^m f_r$ in polar coordinates $(r,\theta ),$ which becomes the classical Cauchy–Riemann system under $m=0$ and $\sigma =ir.$ Using the isoperimetric technique, various lower estimates for $|f(z)|/|z|, f(0)=0,$ as $z\to 0,$ are derived under appropriate integral conditions on complex/directional dilatations. The sharpness of the above bounds is illustrated by several examples.

We show that the singularities of the twisted Kähler–Einstein metric arising as the longtime solution of the Kähler–Ricci flow or in the collapsed limit of Ricci-flat Kähler metrics are intimately related to the holomorphic sectional curvature of reference conical geometry. This provides an alternative proof of the second-order estimate obtained by Gross, Tosatti, and Zhang (2020, Preprint, arXiv:1911.07315) with explicit constants appearing in the divisorial pole.

In this paper, we prove a noncommutative (nc) analog of Schwarz lemma for the nc Schur–Agler class and prove that the regular nc Schur–Agler class and the regular free Herglotz–Agler class are homeomorphic. Moreover, we give a characterization of regular free Herglotz–Agler functions. As an application, we will show that any regular free Herglotz–Agler functions can uniformly be approximated by regular Herglotz–Agler free polynomials.

We discuss an alternative approach to Fréchet derivatives on Banach spaces inspired by a characterisation of derivatives due to Carathéodory. The approach allows many questions of differentiability to be reduced to questions of continuity. We demonstrate how that simplifies the theory of differentiation, including the rules of differentiation and the Schwarz lemma on the symmetry of second-order derivatives. We also provide a short proof of the differentiable dependence of fixed points in the Banach fixed point theorem.

We establish a Schwarz lemma for $V$-harmonic maps of generalised dilatation between Riemannian manifolds. We apply the result to obtain corresponding results for Weyl harmonic maps of generalised dilatation from conformal Weyl manifolds to Riemannian manifolds and holomorphic maps from almost Hermitian manifolds to quasi-Kähler and almost Kähler manifolds.

Let ${{B}_{p1,p2}}\,=\,\left\{ z\,\in \,{{\mathbb{C}}^{n}}\,:\,{{\left| {{z}_{1}} \right|}^{{{p}_{1}}}}\,+\,{{\left| {{z}_{2}} \right|}^{{{p}_{2}}}}\,+\,\cdots \,+\,{{\left| {{z}_{n}} \right|}^{{{p}_{2}}}}\,<\,1 \right\}$ be an egg domain in ${{\mathbb{C}}^{n}}$. In this paper, we first characterize the Kobayashi metric on ${{B}_{{{p}_{1}},{{p}_{2}}}}\,\left( {{p}_{1}}\,\ge 1,\,{{p}_{2}}\,>\,1 \right)$ and then establish a new type of classical boundary Schwarz lemma at ${{z}_{0}}\in \partial {{B}_{{{p}_{1}},{{p}_{2}}}}$ for holomorphic self-mappings of ${{B}_{{{p}_{1}},{{p}_{2}}}}\,\left( {{p}_{1}}\,\ge \,1,\,{{p}_{2}}\,>\,1 \right)$), where ${{z}_{0}}={{\left( {{e}^{i\theta }},\,0,\ldots ,0 \right)}^{\prime }}$ and $\theta \,\in \,\mathbb{R}$.

Let ${\mathcal{S}}$ denote the set of all univalent analytic functions $f$ of the form $f(z)=z+\sum _{n=2}^{\infty }a_{n}z^{n}$ on the unit disk $|z|<1$. In 1946, Friedman [‘Two theorems on Schlicht functions’, Duke Math. J.13 (1946), 171–177] found that the set ${\mathcal{S}}_{\mathbb{Z}}$ of those functions in ${\mathcal{S}}$ which have integer coefficients consists of only nine functions. In a recent paper, Hiranuma and Sugawa [‘Univalent functions with half-integer coefficients’, Comput. Methods Funct. Theory13(1) (2013), 133–151] proved that the similar set obtained for functions with half-integer coefficients consists of only 21 functions; that is, 12 more functions in addition to these nine functions of Friedman from the set ${\mathcal{S}}_{\mathbb{Z}}$. In this paper, we determine the class of all normalized sense-preserving univalent harmonic mappings $f$ on the unit disk with half-integer coefficients for the analytic and co-analytic parts of $f$. It is surprising to see that there are only 27 functions out of which only six functions in this class are not conformal. This settles the recent conjecture of the authors. We also prove a general result, which leads to a new conjecture.

We prove that if f is an integrable function on the unit sphere S in ℝn, g is its symmetric decreasing rearrangement and u, v are the harmonic extensions of f, g in the unit ball , then v has larger convex integral means over each sphere rS, 0 < r < 1, than u has. We also prove that if u is harmonic in with |u| < 1 and u(0) = 0, then the convex integral mean of u on each sphere rS is dominated by that of U, which is the harmonic function with boundary values 1 on the right hemisphere and −1 on the left one.
