Papers which advance knowledge of mathematics, either pure or applied, will be considered by the Editorial Committee. The work must be original and not submitted to another journal.
Submission of manuscripts
Papers should be prepared in some form of TeX and submitted as a PDF.
Papers in languages other than English should be sent only after prior consultation with the Editor, who may be contacted at mpeditor@group.cam.ac.uk
When a paper has been accepted for publication the relevant TeX files of the final version, accompanied by a pdf file, should be uploaded on EditFlow, following the decision email.
The class file, together with a guide, PSPguide.tex, and sample pages, can be downloaded here.
These files will be updated periodically: please ensure that you have the latest version.
Preparation of manuscripts
A cover page should give the title, the author's name and institution, and a working email address.
Authors are asked to provide an abstract which should make sense independently of the main text. References should not be included in the abstract.
Authors are encouraged to check that where references are given, they are used in the text.
References
References should be collected at the end of the paper numbered in alphabetical order of the authors’ names. Where references are given, they should be used in the text. Titles of journals should be abbreviated as in Mathematical Reviews. The following examples show the preferred style for references to a paper in a journal, a paper in a proceedings volume, a book and an unpublished dissertation:
[1] R. E. SCHWARTZ. The optimal paper Moebius band. Ann of Math. 201 (2025), no. 1, 291--305.
[2] B. KRA. Ergodic methods in additive combinatorics. In Additive Combinatorics, CRM Proceedings and Lecture Notes vol. 43 (AMS, 2007), pp. 103--144.

Author Hub
You can find guides for many aspects of publishing with Cambridge at Author Hub, our suite of resources for Cambridge authors.
English language editing services
Authors, particularly those whose first language is not English, may wish to have their English-language manuscripts checked by a native speaker before submission. This step is optional, but may help to ensure that the academic content of the paper is fully understood by the Editor and any reviewers.
In order to help prospective authors to prepare for submission and to reach their publication goals, Cambridge University Press offers a range of high-quality manuscript preparation services, including language editing. You can find out more on our language services page.
Please note that the use of any of these services is voluntary, and at the author's own expense. Use of these services does not guarantee that the manuscript will be accepted for publication, nor does it restrict the author to submitting to a Cambridge-published journal.
