Modern Russian health psychology does not have the necessary tools for studying health anxiety in children, and therefore it is necessary to identify methods aimed at assessing the presence/absence and severity of children’s health anxiety.

To validate the “Short Health Anxiety Inventory” to a sample of school-age children who do not have serious physical disabilities.

The sample: 193 respondents (average age-12.5; 117-girls). We used: “Short Health Anxiety Inventory” (SHAI; Salkovskis et al., 2002), Children CPQ (Factor C), “Attitude toward Health” questionnaire (Berezovskaya, 2005) (emotional scale), STAI (Spielberger, 2002), EPI (Eysenck, 1963) (neuroticism scale).

Correlation analysis suggests that “health anxiety” is a separate construct. The discriminativeness criterion shows that each individual statement, as well as the whole inventory, is aimed at measuring the same construct. The retest reliability assessment (4 weeks later) shows the results: the “Health Anxiety” scale - 0.892 (p≤0.01), the “Alertness to bodily sensations” scale - 0.889 (p≤0.01), the “Fear of negative consequences” scale - 0.815 (p≤0.01). Correlations between the scales shows the values: 0.943 (p≤0.01) - for the general scale, 0.392 (p≤0.01) - for the “Alertness to bodily sensations” scale, 0.675 (p≤0.01) - for the “Fear of negative consequences” scale. The original three-component structure of the questionnaire is confirmed. The Russian version of the inventory showed internal consistency (alfa-Cronbach’s coefficient - 0.835), retest reliability, discriminativeness, external and constructive validity.

The results indicate that the SHAI can be used to study health anxiety in children due to its psychometric characteristics, simplicity and ease of use.

1 in 4 women in Europe will experience domestic violence and abuse (DVA) in their lifetime. Abuse can take many forms, including, psychological, physical, sexual, financial, and emotional abuse. There is growing recognition of the health consequences of DVA in public policy and academic research across Europe and the globe. These include but are not limited to: a negative impact on mental health; increased substance misuse; increased presentation in emergency departments; increased rates of abortion or miscarriage; and increased presence of any sexual health problem. International and national policy guidance indicates that healthcare professionals have important roles in responding to patients experiencing DVA, usually with regard to identifying abuse and referring for specialist support. Barriers to engaging in DVA relate to lack of confidence in recognising abuse or initiating conversations about it, stigma surrounding DVA, fears of exacerbating violence, limited awareness of the resources available to support patients, and limited training in providing trauma-informed medical care. This session will give insight into efforts to improve the healthcare response to DVA. It will draw together examples of healthcare DVA programmes from across the globe and bring together lessons learnt about what works and what does not work in addressing DVA in clinical settings, with specific insights for professionals working in mental health services.

In perinatal clinical practice (PCP), the focus of care has shifted from the mother and then the baby-mother dyad to the emphasis on the role of fathers. Individual and therapeutic interventions are multimodal, and in almost all cases interdisciplinary cooperation is assumed. The preferred therapeutic methods for perinatal mental disorders are psychological and psychotherapeutic interventions. Through the life-course model, the central, therapeutic-conceptual role of the family can be understood, which - in clinical practice - reflects the need for “think-family” in psychiatric care. Hence there is a growing need for evidence-based family-interventions. Parental mental health disorders may have an impact on family functioning and partner relationship, as well as parent-child interactions, the quality of attachment and relationship with the child. Even though we have an increasing number of evidence regarding the aims and effectiveness of family interventions, additional evidence is needed to determine what interventions and modalities are effective in the perinatal period. And we also need information when these interventions are contraindicated and regarding their risk. It is conceivable that there is not much difference between the efficacy of family intervention methods used in other indications and the perinatal application of the same methods. We have gathered evidence primarily on perinatal depression, which opens the path of family interventions in other disorders. When thinking in the family as a general framework, it should be filled with evidence-based quantitative and qualitative anchors. The conceptual framework can be based on systems- and network theory. The presentation is illustrated with clinical vignettes.

Despite being one of the oldest treatments in the field of Psychiatry, Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is used worldwide for various severe and treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders, establishing itself as one of the fastest and most effective treatments.

The primary aim of this study was to describe a nationwide epidemiological perspective of the use of ECT in hospitalized psychiatric patients. The secondary aims were to characterize clinical and sociodemographic trends of hospitalized patients who needed ECT.

A retrospective-observational study was conducted using an administrative database which gathered all hospitalizations registered in Portuguese public hospitals from 2008 to 2015. We selected all hospitalizations with a procedure code 94.27 - Other electroshock therapy defined by the International Classification of Diseases version-9, Clinical Modification.The variables included in the study were birth date, sex, residence address, primary and secondary diagnoses, admission date, discharge date, length of stay (LoS), discharge status from each single hospitalization episode.

There were a total of 879 hospitalizations with ECT during the 8-year period of the study. Most of the hospitalizations occurred in female patients (53.4 vs 46.6%), belonging to the age group of 51-70 years old, with a mean age of 50.5 years old. The median LoS was 43.0 days with an IQR of 27.0-68.0 days. The specific primary diagnosis most frequent in all hospitalizations was Major depressive disorder, recurrent episode representing 19.6% of all ECT related hospitalizations.

In Portugal most of the patients who received ECT were women above middle age, and depressive disorders were the most common indication.

Paranoia querulans is a type of persistent delusional disorder of the persecutory subtype, recognized under ICD-10 and DSM-IV. Being a classically described entity, evidence is lacking from its conceptualization as a nosological entity to diagnosis and treatment. Furthermore, controversy still exists regarding its interplay between the judicial and mental health systems.

To summarize current evidence and knowledge regarding Paranoia querulans on its conceptualization, ethiopathological explanations, therapeutical management and interface between psychiatry and the law.

A systematic review was undertaken between June and October 2020 in the PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus databases according to PRISMA directive. Key-terms: ((querul* OR vexatious) AND (paranoia OR delusio* OR neuros* OR behavi* OR complai*) OR litig*) AND psychiatry. No language or time restrictions were established.

A total of 1648 studies were initially identified (PubMed: 679; WOS: 945; Scopus: 24; other: 0); after duplicates were removed, n=1381 studies remained. After screening title and abstract, 56 studies were included. Their main content was categorized into: 1. Conceptualization (n=26): Neurosis (n=5), psychosis (n=9), behavioral disorder (n=5); no psychiatric diagnosis (n=7). 2. Descriptive psychopathology (n=8) 3. Etiopathogenesis (n=9): Social or personality basis (n=3), culture (n=4), trauma (n=1), cognitive decline (n=1) 4. Management (n=1) 5. Psychiatry and Law: same object, different objectives (n=12)

There is controversy regarding the nosological entity of querulousness, from psychosis to neurosis or behavioral disorders. Some authors consider this behavior to not be a psychiatric diagnosis. Furthermore, most papers dealt with a social or nurture-based origin. There is a dearth of information regarding treatment.

The presence of acquired speech disorders of varying evidence can cause maladjustment and job loss. Often there is no adequate psychological and psychotherapeutic assistance for these patients, which hinders the process of recovery and reintegration into the social environment.

To study the level of anxiety and depression in patients with dysarthria who have undergone various types of cerebrovascular accidents. To give practical recommendations regarding the correction of these conditions.

To assess the level of anxiety and depression, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) was used as the most convenient for application in clinical practice.

The study involved 42 people in the age group 45-60 years old with the consequences of cerebrovascular accident in the form of various types of dysarthria and without severe movement disorders. All participants had a university degree and a confirmed stroke of anamnesis. According to the data obtained, 45% of patients had symptoms of depression, 52% – anxiety. It should be clarified that specific weight of men with manifestations of depression and anxiety was higher (65% and 56%, respectively). The beginning of active antidepressant therapy in a hospital setting showed a positive subjective effect from such influences – in 38% of patients.

The use of modern methods for assessing the level of anxiety and depression in patients with speech disorders should become an obligatory stage of diagnostic measures. Psychological assistance and pharmacological correction not only helps patients to adapt to new social conditions, but also promotes prevention the progression of depressive manifestations.

A variety of psychological determinants, such as vulnerability to stress, low levels of psychological well-being and several comorbidities, have been hypothesized to play a role in the development, and maintenance of Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD). However, evidence has been insufficient to sustain an overarching model of the causal pathways leading to IGD.

. This study aimed to depict a model of the causal links between vulnerability to stress, psychological well-being, and symptoms of common mental disorders (e.g., depression, generalized anxiety, phobic anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, somatization, and hostility).

A community-based sample of Portuguese gamers (N = 153; Mage = 21.92; 15.29% female) completed measures of IGD (IGDS9-SF), mental health (SCL-90-R), psychological well-being (EBEP), and vulnerability to stress (23QVS). A machine learning algorithm – Greedy Fast Causal Inference – was used to infer a model of the causal pathways linking those psychological determinants to IGD.

. Hostility and psychological well-being were directly involved with a subgroup of IGD symptoms (i.e., gaming used as escape, tolerance, withdrawal, and loss of control). Stress vulnerability and symptoms of mental disorders were only indirectly implicated in the causal pathways leading to IGD.

. It is likely that several psychological factors implicated in the causal pathways leading to IGD, have not been yet identified. Future research should directly test specific models of the causal pathways involved in the development and maintenance of IGD symptoms.

The term Munchausen syndrome was first used in 1951 after Baron von Münchhausen, a German nobleman known for his exaggerated storytelling. DSM-5 refers to it as factitious disorder imposed on self: “falsification of physical or psychological signs or symptoms, or induction of injury or disease, (…) in the absence of obvious external rewards”.

To report a case of Munchausen syndrome and highlight the impact on its physical and psychiatric approaches.

Description of a clinical case based on medical records and a brief review on Munchausen syndrome.

A 57-year-old female, with no previous psychiatric history, was evaluated by Psychiatry for complaints of depression with suicidal ideation. She reported family conflicts and a list of medical conditions and surgical interventions. According to the patient she was waiting for a cardiac transplant and said she had type 1 diabetes, myasthenia gravis, hepatic steatoses, dyslipidemia, hyperuricemia, mitral valve prolapse and was submitted to a thymectomy and cervical herniated disc surgery. She was on many different prescription pills. Even though she had blocked the access to her clinical records in other institutions, at our hospital she had multiple admissions to the emergency room, numerous follow-up appointments of different specialties and several allergies documented. She displayed many incoherencies throughout the interview, had a circumstantial speech and exuberant appearance.

Munchausen syndrome remains a challenging diagnosis to physicians. This condition is not only associated with significant morbidity and mortality, but also with unnecessary tests and procedures, iatrogenesis, prolonged hospitalizations and increased health costs.

In depression (MDD) treatment there is a clear need for novel treatments, biomarkers and individualized treatment approaches. One of the most promising and most widely investigated biomarkers for antidepressant treatments is the EEG. Most EEG biomarkers however, still lack robustness and reproducibility and suffer significant publication bias as highlighted in a recent meta-analysis (Widge et al., 2018). Therefore, large controlled validation studies are needed with a focus on robustness, replication and clinical relevance. In this presentation results will be presented from the largest EEG Biomarker study to date, the international Study to Predict Optimized Treatment in Depression (iSPOT-D), where 1008 MDD patients were randomized to Escitalopram, Sertraline and Venlafaxine. Drug-class specific (Arns et al., 2016) and drug-specific (Arns, Gordon & Boutros, 2015) biomarkers will be highlighted as well as preliminary data from a prospective feasibility trial. Furthermore, data will be presented on repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) treatment in MDD on EEG and clinical predictors (Krepel et al., 2018; 2019) and a new method called Neuro-Cardiac-Guided TMS (NCG TMS), that exploits network connectivity in the frontal vagal pathway, as a target engagement approach (Iseger et al., 2019). Finally, clinical implications and implementations will be discussed from a ‘treatment stratification’ perspective, which might be a more realistic goal relative to ‘personalized medicine’ perspective.

Catatonia is characterized by a bizarre and severe psychomotor change. According to DSM-5, the presence of three or more symptoms is necessary to affirm the diagnosis: stupor, catalepsy, brain flexibility, mutism, negativism, posturing, mannerisms, stereotypes, agitation not influenced by external stimuli, grimaces, echolalia or echopraxia. The association between first- and second-generation antipsychotics (AP) and the onset of catatonia is well established in the literature. In contrast, clozapine is one of the second-generation APs that is recognized for its effectiveness in treating catatonia, rather than inducing it. However, it has been documented that abrupt discontinuation of clozapine can induce rapid clinical deterioration with multiple presentations including: psychoses, cholinergic rebound states, serotonergic syndromes and catatonia.

Review the literature on catatonia associated with abrupt interruption of clozapine. Describe a clinical case.

34-year-old man, with the diagnosis of Schizoaffective Disorder. Admitted due to an acute decompensation with psychotic symptoms resistant to treatment requiring the introduction of clozapine. In the absence of a clinical response, clozapine was suspended, with the consequent appearance of catatonia resistant to benzodiazepines in high doses.

Its already well established that the abrupt discontinuation of clozapine can trigger catatonia. This clinical case and literature review suits to emphasize the importance of educating psychiatrists on the adverse effects of psychiatric drugs and, in this case, the cautious discontinuation of clozapine in order to avoid its rebound effects.

The psychological effects of using any method of contraception are not hidden from anyone but in different methods, they have different effects.

We aim to investigate the different psychological effects of common contraceptive methods in women.

A search conducted by keywords “contraception”, “psychological effects” and “women” in PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus and Clinical Key and Google Scholar search engine. Finally, data from 12 articles were used for this review study.

The positive and negative psychological effects were slightly different in consumers. The effect of OC and IUD and sterilization on sex life compared to condoms was reported to be positive and in menstrual experiences, OC consumers reported higher satisfaction than other methods, in particular, IUD. The regret in using sterilization was higher than in other methods. Psychopathological disorders and psychological disorders developed while using these methods should be differentiated. Negative psychological effects of women using contraceptive methods are often due to their mental background to a mother’s role and fertility and the conflict that exists in these methods with their mental image. Also, cooperation and understanding of spouses on the acceptance of these methods and their positive or negative impact has been reported to be very effective.

Before providing any method of contraception, it is recommended to provide comprehensive counseling on each method and follow up with women while consuming to reduce these symptoms and improving their effectiveness.

Previous research from our group showed that, after a single yoga class, Interoceptive Accuracy (IAc), tested through the Heartbeat Counting Task, improved in a group of Healthy Controls (HC), but not in a group of patients with Anorexia Nervosa (AN).

To evaluate three levels of interoception (accuracy, confidence (IC) and awareness (IAw)) before and after eight sessions of Yoga in a sample of patients with Eating Disorders (ED: AN, Bulimia Nervosa (BN) and Binge Eating Disorder (BED)).

15 patients with ED were included. Before the first yoga session (T0) and 72 hours after the last session (T1), participants underwent: (i) the Heartbeat Counting Task for the evaluation of IAc, IC and IAw; (ii) a psychometric assessment evaluating depression, anxiety, body awareness, alexithymia, self-objectification and eating disorders symptomatology.

At T1, ED patients’ IAc appeared higher than at T0, but not IC and IAw. A trend towards significance (p = 0.055) emerged for the interaction effect between IAc and diagnosis, with BED patients having a higher increase of IAc at T1 than AN and BN patients. Significant correlations between IAc and Alexithymia, Anxiety and Depression emerged at T0, but were not maintained at T1.

After a program of eight Yoga sessions, IAc in ED patients (but not IC and IAw) increases, especially in BED patients. Moreover, the improvement of IAc following the yoga course seems to be unrelated to the course of depressive, anxious and alexithymic symptoms of ED patients.

Important changes have been done in economic status of residents in 2018. The impact of these measures in changing opinion was checked.

The prioritization exercises of main factors related with psychiatric residents’ decision to emigrate could be a starting point of elaboration of a strategy of reforms.

The study was cross sectional evaluation at national level on a randomized selected sample of Romanian psychiatric residents’ opinion on factors which influence decision of migration in EU countries in two time points: 2015 and 2020.

38% of residents intend to work abroad comparing with 78% before the economic changes (25.84% versus 71.66% for a limited period of time and 15.73% versus 28.33% intend to emigrate) and 2% versus 5% intend to leave the speciality. The most important factors for decision to emigrate changed from “Better working conditions” (15.73 versus 37.31% residents) to “Better training” 20.25% residents and the factor “respect and appreciation by colleagues” remained important for 19.10% versus 17.91%. “Lack of working place for partner” was considered by 26.96% of responders as an important disadvantage of working abroad. “Being far from family members” which was considered 5 years ago by 64.18% of responders as an important disadvantage of working abroad, nowadays concerns only 6.74%, probably because it seems easier to go abroad together with the family members.

The factors (better training in psychiatry and psychotherapy, better supervision, more involvement in research) which influence the residents’ decision to emigrate represent the starting points on futures reforms in educational and medical system in psychiatry.

Vortioxetine has demonstrated sustained efficacy and favorable safety profile in multiple clinical trials.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness and safety of vortioxetine in real-world clinical practice.

RELIEVE is a prospective, multi-national, observational cohort study of outpatients initiating vortioxetine treatment for MDD at physician’s discretion and followed for 6 months. Data were collected at routine clinical visits. The primary outcome was functioning measured by Sheehan Disability Scale (SDS). Depressive symptoms measured by Patient Health Questionnaire 9-item (PHQ-9), cognitive symptoms measured by PDQ-5 and DSST were key secondary outcomes. Safety outcomes including adverse events were reported. This interim analysis presents results of 527 patients who completed the study and were followed for 6 months. Mixed models of repeated measures were used to assess improvements between baseline and month 6, adjusted for relevant confounders.

A total of 527 patients (mean age, 50.2 years, 65% female) were enrolled from US, Canada, France and Italy, and included in the analysis. Mean SDS total score, PHQ-9, PDQ-5 scores decreased by 8.6, 7.4 and 4.7 respectively from baseline to last visit. Mean DSST score improved by 6.5 from baseline to last visit. Patients’ overall functioning and quality of life significantly improved, sick leave days and underproductive days (both absenteeism and presenteeism) decreased over the entire follow up period. The overall incidence of adverse events(AE) was 25%, with the most common AEs being nausea and headache.

The results confirm the effectiveness and good tolerability of vortioxetine in a broad range of patients in routine clinical practice.

Treatment of accompanying somatic disorders in patients with schizophrenia is a crucial issue, as those people die about 25 years earlier, compared with the general population. Moreover, premature death in this group of patients is more often caused by comorbidities than by suicide. It is worth emphasizing that cardiovascular disease itself in people with schizophrenia accounts for as much as 23% of causes of death, followed by suicides and drug toxicity. The paper presents a description of a 65-year-old patient diagnosed with schizophrenia, alcohol addiction, metabolic syndrome, and cardiac arrhythmia.

To determine the impact of cooperation between medical specialists and a psychiatric patient on the treatment effect.

A case of a patient treated in a day ward is described. A literature search was made in the PubMed database.

A patient after exacerbations of mental illness, often preceded by a return to alcohol use, tends to discontinue both psychiatric drugs and those prescribed for somatic diseases. Due to the diagnosed atrial fibrillation, sudden discontinuation of cardiac medications significantly increases the risk of life-threatening somatic complications, including stroke.

Diagnostic and therapeutic management in the treatment of psychiatric and somatic diseases with concurrent addiction to psychoactive substances requires interdisciplinary cooperation of medical specialists with the patient to achieve a successful outcome. Summarizing, in treatment, we must always look at the patient as a whole. Aside from caring for the mental state, the physical condition along with the possibility of cooperation on the part of the patient remains essential.

Neuropsychiatric drugs account for 16% of drugs that can lead to hepatotoxicity and psychiatric patients can have multiple comorbidities that can increase the incidence of liver disorders such as alcoholism, drug abuse and polymedication. The continuous use of atypical antipsychotic drugs (AAD) has raised questions over their tolerability over endocrine, metabolic and cardiovascular systems. They are also associated with mild elevation of aminotransferases and occasionally cause idiosyncratic liver injury with varying phenotypes. Hepatotoxicity is defined based on biological parameters such as elevation of alkaline phosphatase enzyme, SGPT, SGOT and GGT or clinical abnormalities (jaundice and hepatitis).

This work reviewed the current available evidence on the hepatic damage produced by AAD.

Non-systematic review of the literature with selection of scientific articles published in the past 10 years; by searching Pubmed and Medscape databases using the combination of MeSH descriptors. The following MeSH terms were used: atypical antipsychotic drugs; hepatotoxicity; hepatic; Olanzapine; Clozapine; Risperidone; Aripiprazol; Paliperidone.

Atypical Antipsychotic Drugs are generally well tolerated and hepatic alterations are in general very low or rare. The cases published were observed with Clozapine, Olanzapine and Risperidone. Atypical Antipsychotic drugs have a better profile than Chlorpromazine.

In conclusion, the hepatic injury generally occurs within the first weeks of treatment and is usually reversible with drug withdrawal. Hepatic check-ups may be relevant, especially in the beginning of treatment.

Anxiety are among the most common (Huang, Zhao, 2020, Rajkumar, 2020, Roy et al., 2020) and stable (Wang et al., 2020) mental complaints in a pandemic situation. Based on cognitive approach (Beck, Emery, Greenberg, 2005) one should differentiate unrealistic (dysfunctional) anxiety as well as different types of anxiety (Roy et al., 2020).

The aim was to reveal relationship of different types of anxiety with the search for information about coronavirus and protective behavior.

In April 2020 (2-3 weeks of self-isolation regimen) 409 respondents not infected by coronavirus (186 men, 223 women) aged 18 to 64 years appraised their anxiety of infection and pandemic consequences (Cronbach’s alphas .77-.82), the degree to which anxiety disturbs their usual activities, the frequency of tracking information about the coronavirus (.75) and various protective actions against the coronavirus (.76).

17.1% reported that anxiety disturbed their activities. Anxiety of pandemic negative consequences was more prominent than anxiety of infection and was unrelated to age and gender. Anxiety of infection was higher in females (t=-5.48, p<.01, η=.26) and elder people (r=.20, p<.01). Both anxiety of infection and of pandemic consequences was equally related to information tracking and protective behavior (r=.25-.36, p<.01). Dysfunctional anxiety was unrelated to adherence to self-isolation (r=.08) but was related to information tracking (r=.21, p<.01).

Dysfunctional anxiety is unrelated to self-isolation and should be differentiated from realistic anxiety in studies of pandemic. Research is supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, project No. 20-04-60072.

Personality traits like neuroticism and trait-anxiety, as well as the predisposition to a greater sensitivity to pain, are risk factors for dental anxiety. Although perfectionism has been associated with both anxiety and pain, particularly when mediated by repetitive negative thinking/RNT (Macedo et al. 2015; Albuquerque et al. 2013), its role in dental anxiety has not yet been studied.

To analyze the role of perfectionism and RNT in dental anxiety.

A community sample of 552 adults (68.2% women; mean age=35.15±15.79 years) completed the Portuguese versions of:Hewit and Flett Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale–13, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Sensitivity to Pain Traumatization/SPT Scale, Fear of Dental Pain/FDP Questionnaire, Perseverative Thinking Questionnaire and Dental Fear Survey/DFS.

Trait-anxiety (r=.225), socially prescribed perfectionism/SPP (r=.177), SPT (r=.286), FDP (r=.509) and RNT (r=.274) were significantly (p<.01) correlated with dental anxiety (DFS total score). Serial mediation analysis using the PROCESS-macro 3.5 for SPSS (Hayes, 2020; Model 6) showed that even controlling for trait-anxiety and gender (as SPT, FDP and RNT mean scores were significantly higher in women, p<.01) SPP plays a significant indirect effect through SDT, FDP and RNT on dental anxiety, which are (isolated or sequentially) full mediators of this relationship (Total effect: .553, p<.001).

This study shows for the first time that negative perfectionism is a predictor of dental anxiety; its influence operates through the increase in levels of sensitivity to pain, DPA and RNT. We suggest that when intervening in this health problem it is important to evaluate perfectionism and try to mitigate its negative impact, namely diminishing RNT and the focus on pain and fear.

Project-based leisure would be conducive to enabling people to project themselves into the future and to move away from the eating disorder, which involves a constant preoccupation with food and one’s body. According to this, travel could be a leisure opportunity that invites to challenge oneself by going out of one’s comfort zone. Coping is a real dilemma for people living with eating disorders and the motivations of a tourism experience could refer to motivation to leave one’s current environment. Consequently, travel would be helpful in reducing the individual’s focus on the illness in a different environment.

The aim of this study is to investigate the use of travel to help people living with eating disorders to live in the present moment and to “let go”. Then, to understand what are the components of travel that are essential for an optimal leisure experience.

This multiple case study uses mixed data from a sample of five participants with an ED and living in France. They were invited to live a tourism experience in Québec for one week. This data collection was before, during and after the trip, using the Experience Sampling Method with a mobile app pocket and guided interviews to assess sensations and emotions in the ecological context of patients.

The trip allowed a letting go and developed a greater ability to live in the present moment. It was a significantly positive moment in the lives of the participants.
