In this paper, we have shown that the quantum isometry group of Cr*(ℤ), denoted by ℚ(ℤ, S) as in Goswami and Mandal, Rev. Math. Phys.29(3) (2017), 1750008, with respect to a symmetric generating set S does not depend on the generating set S. Moreover, we have proved that the result is no longer true if the group ℤ is replaced by $\underbrace{\mathbb{Z} \times \mathbb{Z} \times\cdots \times \mathbb{Z}}_{n \ copies} \ \forall \ n>1$.

In this paper, we develop the theory of stratifying systems in the context of exact categories as a generalisation of the notion of stratifying systems in module categories, which have been studied by different authors. We prove that attached to a stratifying system in an exact category $(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{E})$ there is an standardly stratified algebra B such that the category $\mathscr{F}$F(Θ), of F-filtered objects in the exact category $(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{E})$ is equivalent to the category $\mathscr{F}$(Δ) of Δ-good modules associated to B. The theory we develop in exact categories, give us a way to produce standardly stratified algebras from module categories by just changing the exact structure on it. In this way, we can construct exact categories whose bounded derived category is equivalent to the bounded derived category of an standardly stratified algebra. Finally, applying the relative homological algebra developed by Auslander–Solberg, we can construct examples of stratifying systems that are not a stratifying system in the classical sense, so our approach really produces new stratifying systems.

We analyze the computational complexity of an algorithm to solve the conjugacy search problem in a certain family of metabelian groups. We prove that in general the time complexity of the conjugacy search problem for these groups is at most exponential. For a subfamily of groups, we prove that the conjugacy search problem is polynomial. We also show that for a different subfamily the conjugacy search problem reduces to the discrete logarithm problem.

Let ℍ be the division ring of real quaternions. Let SL(2, ℍ) be the group of 2 × 2 quaternionic matrices $A={\scriptsize{(\begin{array}{l@{\quad}l} a & b \\ c & d \end{array})}}$ with quaternionic determinant det A = |ad − aca−1b| = 1. This group acts by the orientation-preserving isometries of the five-dimensional real hyperbolic space. We obtain discreteness criteria for Zariski-dense subgroups of SL(2, ℍ).

It is not known whether the inverse of a frequently hypercyclic bilateral weighted shift on c0(ℤ) is again frequently hypercyclic. We show that the corresponding problem for upper frequent hypercyclicity has a positive answer. We characterise, more generally, when bilateral weighted shifts on Banach sequence spaces are (upper) frequently hypercyclic.

We characterize those non-negative, measurable functions ψ on [0, 1] and positive, continuous functions ω1 and ω2 on ℝ+ for which the generalized Hardy–Cesàro operator

Functorial semi-norms on singular homology give refined ‘size’ information on singular homology classes. A fundamental example is the ℓ1-semi-norm. We show that there exist finite functorial semi-norms on singular homology that are exotic in the sense that they are not carried by the ℓ1-semi-norm.

We shall show that, for any positive integer D > 0 and any primes p1, p2, the diophantine equation x2 + D = 2sp1kp2l has at most 63 integer solutions (x, k, l, s) with x, k, l ≥ 0 and s ∈ {0, 2}.

We show that if A is a compact C*-algebra without identity that has a faithful *-representation in the C*-algebra of all compact operators on a separable Hilbert space and its multiplier algebra admits a minimal central projection p such that pA is infinite-dimensional, then there exists a Hilbert A1-module admitting no frames, where A1 is the unitization of A. In particular, there exists a frame-less Hilbert C*-module over the C*-algebra $K(\ell^2) \dotplus \mathbb{C}I_{\ell^2}$.

Given a Banach space X and a real number α ≥ 1, we write: (1) D(X) ≤ α if, for any locally finite metric space A, all finite subsets of which admit bilipschitz embeddings into X with distortions ≤ C, the space A itself admits a bilipschitz embedding into X with distortion ≤ α ⋅ C; (2) D(X) = α+ if, for every ϵ > 0, the condition D(X) ≤ α + ϵ holds, while D(X) ≤ α does not; (3) D(X) ≤ α+ if D(X) = α+ or D(X) ≤ α. It is known that D(X) is bounded by a universal constant, but the available estimates for this constant are rather large. The following results have been proved in this work: (1) D((⊕n=1∞Xn)p) ≤ 1+ for every nested family of finite-dimensional Banach spaces {Xn}n=1∞ and every 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞. (2) D((⊕n=1∞ ℓ∞n)p) = 1+ for 1 < p < ∞. (3) D(X) ≤ 4+ for every Banach space X with no nontrivial cotype. Statement (3) is a strengthening of the Baudier–Lancien result (2008).

We study Higgs bundles over an elliptic curve with complex reductive structure group, describing the (normalisation of) its moduli spaces and the associated Hitchin fibration. The case of trivial degree is covered by the work of Thaddeus in 2001. Our arguments are different from those of Thaddeus and cover arbitrary degree.

Given a Banach operator ideal $\mathcal A$, we investigate the approximation property related to the ideal of $\mathcal A$-compact operators, $\mathcal K_{\mathcal A}$-AP. We calculate the endomorphism dga of Franke's exotic algebraic model for the K-local stable homotopy category at odd primes. We unravel its original abstract structure to give explicit generators, differentials and products.

In this paper, we will consider derived equivalences for differential graded endomorphism algebras by Keller's approaches. First, we construct derived equivalences of differential graded algebras which are endomorphism algebras of the objects from a triangle in the homotopy category of differential graded algebras. We also obtain derived equivalences of differential graded endomorphism algebras from a standard derived equivalence of finite dimensional algebras. Moreover, under some conditions, the cohomology rings of these differential graded endomorphism algebras are also derived equivalent. Then we give an affirmative answer to a problem of Dugas (A construction of derived equivalent pairs of symmetric algebras, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 143 (2015), 2281–2300) in some special case.

We determine sufficient criteria for the prime spectrum of an ambiskew polynomial algebra R over an algebraically closed field 𝕂 to be akin to those of two of the principal examples of such an algebra, namely the universal enveloping algebra U(sl2) (in characteristic 0) and its quantization Uq(sl2) (when q is not a root of unity). More precisely, we determine sufficient criteria for the prime spectrum of R to consist of 0, the ideals (z − λ)R for some central element z of R and all λ ∈ 𝕂, and, for some positive integer d and each positive integer m, d height two prime ideals P for which R/P has Goldie rank m.

Let G be a simple, simply connected, compact Lie group, and let M be an orientable, smooth, connected, closed 4-manifold. In this paper, we calculate the homotopy type of the suspension of M and the homotopy types of the gauge groups of principal G-bundles over M when π1(M) is (1) ℤ*m, (2) ℤ/prℤ, or (3) ℤ*m*(*nj=1ℤ/prjjℤ), where p and the pj's are odd primes.

In this paper, we introduce the notion of complex product structures on hom-Lie algebras and show that a hom-Lie algebra carrying a complex product structure is a double hom-Lie algebra and it is also endowed with a hom-left symmetric product. Moreover, we show that a complex product structure on a hom-Lie algebra determines uniquely a left symmetric product such that the complex and the product structures are invariant with respect to it. Finally, we introduce the notion of hyper-para-Kähler hom-Lie algebras and we present an example of hyper-para-Kähler hom-Lie algebras.

The goal of this article is to study the coaugmented curved A∞-coalgebra structure of the Koszul codual of a filtered dg algebra over a field k. More precisely, we first extend one result of B. Keller that allowed to compute the A∞-coalgebra structure of the Koszul codual of a nonnegatively graded connected algebra to the case of any unitary dg algebra provided with a nonnegative increasing filtration whose zeroth term is k. We then show how to compute the coaugmented curved A∞-coalgebra structure of the Koszul codual of a Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt (PBW) deformation of an N-Koszul algebra.

Let K be a global field, $\mathcal{V}$ a proper subset of the set of all primes of K, $\mathcal{S}$ a finite subset of $\mathcal{V}$, and ${\tilde K}$ (resp. Ksep) a fixed algebraic (resp. separable algebraic) closure of K with $K_\mathrm{sep}\{\subseteq}{\tilde K}$. Let Gal(K) = Gal(Ksep/K) be the absolute Galois group of K. Finally, we denote the compositum of all symmetric extensions of K by Ksymm. We consider an affine absolutely integral variety V in $\mathbb{A}_K^n$. Suppose that for each $\mathfrak{p}\in\mathcal{S}$ there exists a simple $K_\mathfrak{p}$-rational point $\mathbf{z}_\mathfrak{p}$ of V and for each $\mathfrak{p}\in\mathcal{V}\smallsetminus\mathcal{S}$ there exists $\mathbf{z}_\mathfrak{p}\in V({\tilde K})$ such that in both cases $|\mathbf{z}_\mathfrak{p}|_\mathfrak{p}\le1$ if $\mathfrak{p}$ is non-archimedean and $|\mathbf{z}_\mathfrak{p}|_\mathfrak{p}<1$ if $\mathfrak{p}$ is archimedean. Then, there exists $\mathbf{z}\in V(K_{\mathrm{tot},\mathcal{S}}\cap K_\mathrm{symm})$ such that for all $\mathfrak{p}\in\mathcal{V}$ and for all τ ∈ Gal(K), we have $|\mathbf{z}^\tau|_\mathfrak{p}\le1$ if $\mathfrak{p}$ is archimedean and $|\mathbf{z}^\tau|_\mathfrak{p}<1$ if $\mathfrak{p}$ is non-archimedean. For $\mathcal{S}=\emptyset$, we get as a corollary that the ring of integers of Ksymm is Hilbertian and Bezout.

For K, an imaginary quadratic field with discriminant −DK, and associated quadratic Galois character χK, Kojima, Gritsenko and Krieg studied a Hermitian Maass lift of elliptic modular cusp forms of level DK and nebentypus χK via Hermitian Jacobi forms to Hermitian modular forms of level one for the unitary group U(2, 2) split over K. We generalize this (under certain conditions on K and p) to the case of p-oldforms of level pDK and character χK. To do this, we define an appropriate Hermitian Maass space for general level and prove that it is isomorphic to the space of special Hermitian Jacobi forms. We then show how to adapt this construction to lift a Hida family of modular forms to a p-adic analytic family of automorphic forms in the Maass space of level p.
