This journal uses a double-anonymous model of peer review. Neither author nor reviewers know the identity of each other.
Submissions will be assessed by the Editors before a decision is made whether to send them out for review.
The Editors will not accept suggestions for preferred reviewers, but authors do have the opportunity to identify individuals who should not be invited to review, either because they are already familiar with the submission or for other reasons. Such ‘opposed reviewers’ can be indicated during the online submission process.
In cases where there is a conflict between reviewers’ recommendations, a third reviewer may be invited to adjudicate.
Appeals
To appeal an editorial decision, please contact the Editors (at bob.cowan@sydney.edu.au and diana.burton@vuw.ac.nz) and specify the reason for your appeal.
Your appeal will be reviewed by the Editors and/or an Editor who did not review the manuscript. The final decision regarding your appeal will rest with the Antichthon Editors and Editorial Board.
