The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically affected ones well-being. ICU healthcare providers are particularly concerned by this impact which includes physical, mental and socioeconomic repercussions. Others health dimensions could be deeply affected but not well explored such as the psycho-sexual status.

The aim of this study was to assess sexual health status among ICU healthcare providers.

This was a cross-sectional study enrolling Tunisian ICU healthcare providers and conducted between July and September 2021. Data collection was based on a self-administrated questionnaire. To assess sexuality, Arabic validated versions of the IIEF-15 and the FSFI was used for male and female respectively. The Fear of COVID-19 Scale and the Rosenberg Self-esteem questionnaire were also used.

Twenty ICU workers (13 physicians and 7 nurses) were enrolled. The mean age was 28.2 years and the sex ratio was 2.3. All participants were involved in COVID-19 crisis management and 80 % reported an increase in their workload. The mean Rosenberg scale was 27 suggesting a low self-esteem. The mean Covid19 Fear Scale was 26 ± 2. For the IIEF-15 the mean score was 17 ± 3 (moderate erectyl dysfunction) and the most damaged dimension was the intercourse satisfaction. For the FSFI scale, the mean was 23 ± 5 witch (a low sexual dysfunction). A high sexual desire with a lack in the satisfaction dimension was reported in 90% of cases. Only 4 participants have consulted a sexologist.

COVID-19 has a serious sexual impact in ICU healthcare providers justifying urgent psychological interventions.

There is limited research in adolescent at risk for psychosis. The new criteria of Attenuated Psychosis Syndrome (APS) of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders- 5 (DSM-5) have not been validated.

The aims of this study were to: 1) characterize adolescent’s profile with APS (DSM-5 APS) compared to adolescents with early onset psychosis (EOP) and with other psychiatric disorders (non-APS); 2) to estimate their long-term risk of transition to psychosis and prognostic accuracy of DSM-5 APS.

243 adolescents, aged 12-17, were included (October 2012- July 2019) and dived in three sub-groups (110 DSM-5 APS, 31 EOP, 102 non-APS). All underwent a comprehensive assessment evaluating: sociodemographic characteristics, family and personal history of any DSM-5 psychiatric disorders, psychopathological assessment and level of functioning. An annual follow-up evaluation was carried out (up to 7 years) including a clinical interview to investigate DSM-5 criteria for transition to psychosis.

DSM-5 APS adolescents had on average higher comorbid disorders (2.3) and intermediate psychopathological and functioning profile between non-APS/EOP. The cumulative risk of transition at 1,2,3, 4-5 years was 13%, 17%, 24.2%, 26.8% and 26.8% in DSM-5 APS group, 0%, 0%, 3.2%, 3.2% and 3.2% in the non-APS. The 5-year prognostic accuracy of the DSM-5 APS in adolescent was adequate (Area Under the Curve=0.77) with high sensitivity (91.3%) and suboptimal specificity (63.2%).

The DSM-5 APS diagnosis can be used to detect help-seeking adolescents at risk of psychosis and predict their long-term outcomes, leading the way to new preventive approaches.

The aim was to study the worldview attitudes in Russian youth who are Tolkien fans.

The techniques were completed by 121 students; 17-28 age (M = 21.7; M/F= 35.5 / 64.5 %); 81 (66.9%) subscribers of the Vkontakte communities dedicated to the work of J.R.R. Tolkien. 1. Incomplete Sentences by Sacks-Levy in authors’ version 2. World assumptions scale (R. Janoff-Bulman) (Padun, Kotelnikova, 2007) 3. Purpose-in-Life Test (J. Crumbaugh, L. Maholick) (Leontiev, 2000) 4. Three groups of respondents differing in their attitude to the literary genre of fantasy («fans», «amateurs», «indifferent») were identified. Respondents consider the world to be moderately benevolent, and fair, and themselves quite good people, able to control most of the events taking place in their lives. They are sure that they are often lucky in life. «Fans» have the highest tendency to escapism, the most pessimistic view of the world, with a more positive image of the person compared to other respondents. «Fans» consider their lives less emotionally rich and productive, compared to the assessment of their lives by peers of other groups.

The level of escapism expression in fantasy literature fans are higher than in respondents who do not distinguish this genre as preferred. A new theoretical and empirical work is that worldviews can be monitored and taken into account in practical psychological working with at-risk young people.

Football is the world’s most-watched and played sport. Even though sports psychiatry is steadily gaining importance, the stigma on mental illness in sports, especially football, and the limited number of articles on this topic means there is a pressing need for more study in this area. This narrative review begins to fill this gap. This review summarises the work on addictive disorders in sports, with a close focus on football, as well as mentioning some initiatives that are advancing our understanding of how mental illnesses in sports can be addressed.

This view also contributes to understanding the reasons behind mental illness and sports, and raises awareness.

This review was conducted by searching for the keywords ‘addiction’ and ‘football’ on three different database search engines, namely, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Medline. We found 26 articles based on this literature search with these keywords from 2005 to 2020. After data extraction, we cited 10 of them considering the specificity of addiction disorders in the football industry. 16 additional articles found by backwards citation chaining are also included in this review.

The articles reviewed here investigate addictive disorders within the football sector by looking at the incidence of particular addictive disorders, their underlying reasons and their consequences. This piece concludes by showing the need for more research and new initiatives regarding addictive disorders within the target group of footballers.

A holistic, multidisciplinary and biopsychosocial approach is essential to provide long term solutions considering different factors contributing to addictive disorders in the football sector.

In 2019 there were 1,760 patients in Denmark’s hospitals who experienced cardiac arrest (IHCA patients = In Hospital Cardiac Arrest patients). Of these patients about 70% survived. There is only limited knowledge about the mental and cognitive state of cardiac arrest survivors. However, it seems, that cardiac arrest survivors, perform mentally and cognitively worse compared to the background population. The mental and cognitive difficulties can lead to reduced quality of life for both those affected and their relatives.

Because the above-mentioned area has limited knowledge, further studies are needed to shed more light into the problem.

To find out if the patients can be included in the study, the patient journals will be studied. After that there will be performed an interview-survey-based study, in which IHCA patients’ possible symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD and suicide risk, the patients’ quality of life and any cognitive disorder, shortly after and three months after cardiac arrest, will be examined. The study will also, if possible, focus on the patients’ relatives and on the eventual difficulties they may experience in the aftermath of a relative surviving a cardiac arrest. The above-mentioned will be done using already existing relevant psychiatric and neuropsychological examination tools. In relation to the patients’ relatives, however, a separate survey tool, that has been developed, will be used.

It is an ongoing study. Results are expected in 2023.

In the long run the study hopefully can contribute to establishing relevant help, counseling and rehabilitation for the patients and relatives affected.

Clozapine is one of the most effective antipsychotic drugs. On the other hand, it can cause serious side effects which have to be monitored. An adverse effect is myocarditis, a type B Clozapine reaction that can be fatal if it is not early diagnosed.

To report a case of a patient with Clozapine induced myocarditis.

A 48 years old women with a schizoaffective disorder was admitted to our Hospital due to a clinical decompensation. She had a manic episode with psychotic symptoms (persecutory delusions and auditive hallucinations). Clozapine was introduced after there were no improvement with Olanzapine, Risperidone and Valproic Acid. A dose increase was made reaching 100 mg/day the first week and 200 mg/day the second week. The third week she started with a 39ºC fever, decreased oxygen saturation, leukocytosis (9560 103/mm3), elevated PCR (210 mg/l) and elevated troponins (52,88 ng/l). EKG and other medical tests did not show alterations. There was not found a clear etiology, so Clozapine was retired as a cautionary measure. The differential diagnosis for etiology included viral infections, Clozapine induced myocarditis or idiopathic.

A few days after the withdrawal of Clozapine, cardiac symptoms improved, suggesting it was the most probable etiology.

Although it is not very likely to occur, it is important to consider myocarditis as a sever Clozapine side effect.

People with mental illness (MI) have a reduced life expectancy compared to the general population, mostly attributable to somatic diseases caused by poor physical health. Lifestyle factors (exercise, sleep, diet, substance use) are associated with poor physical and mental health. Although lifestyle factors, and physical and mental health are believed to be interconnected, research has mainly focused on one-sided relationships. Currently, we are implementing a lifestyle focussed approach in treatment, in which we assess lifestyle factors as well as physical and mental health of people with MI on a large scale (˜850 places of residence).

To investigate the association between lifestyle factors, and physical and mental health in people with MI.

Baseline data from an open cohort cluster randomized stepped wedge study. Lifestyle factors (exercise, sleep, diet, substance use), physical health, medication use and psychological health (symptoms, quality of life) were assessed using data from patient files and questionnaires. Associations will be analysed with network analyses.

First results (N≈1600) show that 54% of patients have high blood pressure, 51% have excessive waist circumference, 46% are experiencing sleep problems, 71% smoke and 88% do not meet exercise guidelines. Patients experience a lower quality of life compared to the general population.

Initial results show that patients have poor physical health, low quality of life and an unhealthy lifestyle. Further analyses are currently being conducted to gain insight in the complex pattern between lifestyle factors, and physical and mental health. This can contribute to the improvement of routine clinical care.

Globalization and increased competition in the engineering profession induce to work longer and harder, which predisposes to workaholism or work addiction. Identifying individual factors associated with workaholism could help to maintain the mental health at work.

The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of workaholism and its associated socio-demographic and historic factors among Tunisian engineers.

A cross-sectional descriptive and analytical study conducted among Tunisian engineers during July 2021. The data were collected by an online questionnaire including the socio-demographic and historic information and the “the Work Addiction Risk Test” (WART) which was used to assess the workaholism.

A total of 52 engineers participated in this study (40.4% female and 59.6% male). The average age was 30.75 years (SD=6.25 years). Concerning marital status, thirty-five engineers (67.3%) were single. Of the participants, 17.3% had a history of chronic somatic-disorders and 25 % of them had a history of a psychiatric disorder, such as depressive disorder in 11.5% of cases. The prevalence of workaholism in Tunisian engineers was 23.1%. Workaholism was associated to older age with no significant difference (p = 0.11). The analysis showed that workaholics had more history of depressive disorder (p = 0.02) compared to non-workaholics. However, no significant difference was found by the other socio-demographic factors according to workaholism.

Workaholism is a significant phenomenon among Tunisian engineers. It may depend of personal characteristics and induce negative consequences on mental health and lead to depression.

In bipolar disorder, cognitive deficits persist across mood episodes and euthymia. Despite recent advances, cognitive impairment in bipolar disorder remains poorly understood. The presentation will focus on recent work where different approaches are used to clarify the role of cognitive deficits in bipolar disorder.

First, we have examined the clinical relevance of cognitive impairments and examined if cognitive abilities differ between bipolar disorder subtypes and healthy controls. Second, we examined if cognitive abilities differ between individuals with bipolar disorder with and without attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Third, we examined the relationship between cognitive functioning and occupational functioning. Lastly, we examined if long-term changes in cognitive functioning in bipolar disorder patients differ from normal aging.

The St. Göran Bipolar Project is an interdisciplinary, prospective, naturalistic study of bipolar disorder. Patients were recruited and followed-up at two specialized out-patient clinics in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden.

We showed that there is evidence for significant cognitive heterogeneity in bipolar disorder. Comorbid ADHD could not explain this heterogeneity. Moreover, we showed that excutive functioning is a powerful predictor of occupational functioning. The cognitive trajectory over a 6-year period did not differ between bipolar disorder patients and healthy controls.

There is no conclusive cognitive profile characterizing bipolar disorder. However, cognitive functioning is of great importance in understanding occupational functioning in bipolar disorder. Contrary to the assumption that cognitive impairments may be progressive we show that changes in cognitive functioning over time do not differ between patients and healthy controls.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is recognized as an effective treatment for anxiety disorders. Transdiagnostic group CBT (tCBT) targets cognitive and behavioural intervention strategies common to anxiety disorders. tCBT allows the treatment of a larger number of patients simultaneously and therapists only need to master a single intervention protocol. However, tCBT may present several challenges for therapists, particularly regarding group management.

To explore therapists’ perceptions and experience of group management during tCBT for mixed anxiety disorders.

A qualitative study embedded in a randomized controlled trial of group tCBT (Roberge & Provencher; CIHR, 2015-2021). Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 18 of the 21 therapists to document their perceptions and to identify improvements for tCBT delivery. The data were analyzed using a deductive approach and based on the interactive cyclical process of data reduction, display and conclusion drawing.

Therapists raised the challenge of the heterogeneous characteristics of participants’ anxious profile, since they had to be creative to provide exercises that were suitable for a whole group. Exposure exercises, a key component of tCBT, were particularly affected by the composition of the groups. Previous group animation experience and the ability to establish a therapeutic alliance from a group perspective were important facilitators. Co-therapy also facilitated the intervention, since it allowed the therapists to be more vigilant to group dynamics and favored the organization of tCBT.

This study highlights the importance of exploring therapists’ perceptions and experience about group management in order to identify facilitators and barriers of group tCBT in community-based care.

Pseudobulbar affect (PBA) is an emotional disorder characterized by uncontrollable outbursts of laughing and/or crying. It is caused by lesions that damage pathways in the frontal lobe and descending to the brain stem, basis pontis and cerebellum. The main causes are neurodegenerative diseases.

To present a case of PBA secondary to cerebral toxoplasmosis.

The present study is a case report of a patient admitted for HIV-related toxoplasmosis to our hospital. We also researched previous case reports of PBA secondary to CNS infection using a pubmed query.

Mr. JA is a 38-year-old male, with no prior psychiatric or medical history. He reported having had same-sex sexual encounters previously. He was admitted for ataxia and dysarthria in a medical unit, and diagnosed of HIV infection, with a CD4 count of 19 cells/μL. The MRI showed a lesion of 22x19x18mm with ring enhancement predominantly in basis pontis, compatible with toxoplasmosis(Image1). Treatment with sulfadiazine, pyrimethamine and dexamethasone was initiated. After five days of hospitalization he was referred to Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry for involuntary and uncontrollable outbursts of laughing and crying, insomnia, but no other psychopathological symptoms. Therefore, citalopram 20mg per day was started, with reduction on the frequency of outbursts.

The clinical presentation suggested the diagnosis of PBA due to cerebral toxoplasmosis. Although we found no previous reports of PBA related to HIV infection or toxoplasmosis, the location of the toxoplasmosis lesion is congruent with the typical damaged pathways in PBA. To our knowledge, this is the first report about PBA secondary to HIV-related toxoplasmosis.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is a chronic and recurrent illness frequently associated with functional deterioration and treatment challenges. High rates of thyroid dysfunction have been found in patients with BD, compared to the general population.

To illustrate through a case-report the therapeutic challenges of treatment-resistant bipolar disorder and its relationship with thyroid dysfunction.

Case report of a 41-year-old male patient with BD and comorbid anxiety disorders who has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and underwent total thyroidectomy.

Mr B is a 41 year old patient diagnosed with BD and comorbid anxiety disorders (panic disorder, social anxiety disorder and generalized anxiety disorder) at age 18. He has presented in total 17 relapses and was hospitalized 7 times between the ages of 18 and 24. He experienced predominantly major depressive episodes with mixed features and debilitating anxiety symptoms. He was put on several treatments including a combination of mood stabilizers, antidepressants and benzodiazepines. Due to unsatisfactory treatment response, he was put on clozapine 150mg to 175mg/d combined with valproic acid, clonazepam. In 2009, the patient developed a nodular goiter caused by papillary thyroid carcinoma and underwent total thyroidectomy and radioactive iodine therapy. Following the surgical operation and stabilization of thyroid functioning, a decrease in the number of relapses and the severity of mood and anxiety symptoms have been noted.

This case reports highlights the importance of thyroid function assessment in patients with bipolar disorder and the possible correlation to treatment resistance and symptom severity.

The association between low birth weight and attention problems in childhood has been replicated many times (e.g. Momany, Kamradt, & Nikolas, 2018). However birth weight is unlikely the aetiological start-point of this association, as birth weight is itself the product of many prenatal factors e.g. gestational complications, maternal toxin exposure during pregnancy and basic demographics.

We explore (1) which prenatal factors best predict attention problems in two independant population-based cohorts of children (2) which associations, if any, are moderated by sex and (3) we report accuracy statistics of our prenatal prediction algorithm for attention problems.

Participants were children aged 9 from ABCD study from the United States (N > 9,000) and the Growing Up in Ireland (GUI) study from Ireland (N > 6,000). Selected variables included familial pscyhiatric history, maternal smoking during gestation, prescription and non-prescription drug-use during gestation and a variety of gestational complications. All interactions with sex were also included. We used 5-fold cross-validation and elastic net regression (glmnet) to identify the optimal predictors of attention problems (measured by CBCL and SDQ).

Strongest predictors of attention problems in the U.S. cohort included male sex, number of drugs used during pregnancy, number of family members with a history of mental illness, and number of gestational complications. Sex interacted with several of these risks. Protective factors included being a twin/triplet, being Asian, having higher household income and higher parental education level.

Several risk factors for childhood attention problems were identified across both cohorts, supporting their generalizabilty. Other findings were cohort-specific.

Several studies describe that the coexistence of a substance use disorder with another psychiatric condition or “dual disorder” (DD) is associated with a worse evolution at all levels, including a greater burden of medical illnesses and greater mortality.

To describe the presence of DD and related factors in patients admitted to a General Hospital that required assessment by a psychiatry service.

A descriptive study that includes patients admitted to the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona for all medical-surgical reasons and attended by the specific addiction psychiatry consultation service between January 2016 and October 2021. Sociodemographic and clinical data are collected including the history of consumption and the diagnosis of dual disorder. Chi-square test was used for comparison between groups.

The sample was 1796 patients (Women: 345. Mean age: 50.3 years; SD: 12.6). 43.7% of the sample presented DD, with axis 1 disorders being the most frequent. There was an association of DD to factors as: being woman (54 vs 41.2% p <0.001), HIV positive serologies (54 vs 42.7% p <0.001), being homeless (49 vs 31.7% p <0.001) and cocaine consumption compared to other substances (53.4 vs 39.8% p <0.001).

In our sample, almost half of patients had DD. The representation of women was significantly lower, however they presented a higher proportion of DD. In this study we describe an association of DD with other biopsychosocial problems, and further studies are necessary to determine in which sense they are related and optimize patient care.

Psychiatric conditions can be both a symptom and a consequence of physical disease. Although understanding of this is important for health care delivery, coverage of the relationship between physical and psychiatric illness in undergraduate medical education is sparse. This relationship is particularly pertinent in neurological disorders, where psychiatric symptomatology is commonplace. As part of a student project, the author was tasked with developing accessible teaching materials to increase interest and understanding among medical students, using podcasts.

The aim was to develop podcasts which explored the relationship between psychiatric and neurological illness, for use in undergraduate psychiatric training.

Literature reviews were performed on podcasting in medical education to identify the optimal methods of production to maximise educational value, and on topics covered in podcasts to inform the interview questions. Experts in the relevant areas were contacted for recorded interviews, later used to create podcasts.

Four interviews were conducted between the author and consultant neurologists specialising in the specific neurological condition. A podcast was produced for each of the following topics: depression in multiple sclerosis, frontotemporal dementia in motor neurone disease, Lewy body dementia, and dissociative seizures.

Psychiatric and physical illness are often intertwined. As the prevalence of psychiatric illness rises, it is becoming increasingly important that this connection is recognised, in order to improve patient experiences and outcomes. Novel teaching modalities, such as podcasts, can provide additional ways to support medical education on this important topic.

We have been using LAB (Buvidal) in Cardiff after its pandemic use was funded by Welsh Government.

We wished to review the benefits of introducing LAB (Buvidal) into treatment during the pandemic.

This service development review of the first 73 patients treated with LAB (24mg/96mg rapid titration Welsh protocol) was analysed using Kaplan-Meier survival curves.

43 (58%) male, 30 (41%) female. <25years=1, 38 (52%) aged 25-40, 34 (47%) 40-55. Prior to LAB 14% (10 people) using Espranor, 8% (6) Buprenorphine, 28% (20) Methadone. 50% (36) illicit opiates (mainly Heroin). We had continuous data for patients for up to 9 months of LAB. Two stopped for non-discontinuation reasons: One wanted to detox, one died of natural causes (LAB-unrelated). Both were excluded from discontinuation rate analysis. 55 people have data for over a month. Of these, 11 discontinued treatment. 80% remained on LAB for 1 month or more [95%CI 67-90%]. Kaplan-Meier plots showed similar discontinuation rates when comparing different OST programmes or none prior to LAB, and comparing by age, sex and initial illness severity (CGI severity). These rates all far exceeded data for traditional OST. CGI scores dramatically improved, even at one week. By month 2 all scores “much improved” or “very much improved”.

Buvidal (LAB) has 80% retention rates, regardless of underlying prescribed/illicit opioid /demographics. The commonly held belief that those on heroin are further from Recovery than those more stable on OAD may be incorrect. LAB may be a more acceptable and useful first line therapy that other OSTs

Endorsing conspiracy theories seems to constitute a major feature of contemporary collective anti-vaccine movements (Vignaud & Salvadori, 2019). As revealed by the COVID-19 pandemic, this contributes to increased worldwide vaccine hesitancy (de Figueiredo et al., 2020).

The present work aims at providing novel insight into the collective psychological underpinnings of conspiracy-based vaccine discourses.

Our approach is inspired by Jung’s view that human groups produce narratives to project their collective conflicts (e.g., social, religious, political) onto reality. We analyze these projections in relation to the “halo effect” phenomenon, namely taking metaphorical extensions of (scientific) concepts at face value (e.g. Keller, 1995). Accordingly, we discuss one version of “the Great Reset” theory, claiming that COVID-19 vaccines are used by “the elite” to control behavior and abolish fundamental freedoms.

Our analysis suggests that Western societies are manifesting some of their existential concerns through anti-vaccine discourse. In “the Great Reset” narrative, characters (people, vaccines, elites, immune systems, etc.) and plot can be read as symbols of, respectively, structural elements of the collective psyche (socio-cultural values, aggressive drives, death anxiety, psychic defenses, etc.), and dynamic interrelations among these elements.

Conspiracy theories can be understood as shared narratives serving the purpose of giving shape to collective fears. Within such a framework, references to “vaccines” and “immunity” are the manifestations of a state of crisis of collective psychic defenses.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) causes staggering losses in quality adjusted life years worldwide.1 Among patients in the Danish psychiatric hospital setting, heart disease is associated with a decrease in life expectancy of 5.1 years.2 The causes underlying this association are likely manifold. For example, severe mental illness is associated with unhealthy lifestyle.3 Furthermore, psychiatrists may focus predominantly on the treatment of mental illness and have less emphasis on detection and prevention of physical illness.4 If patients at elevated risk of CVD are pointed out automatically, this may lead to better preventive medicine.

To predict which patients develop cardiovascular disease using machine learning.

We obtained data on all psychiatric hospital contacts in the Central Denmark Region since the initiation of the current EHR system (MidtEPJ). These span from 2011 to 2021 and cover 120,000 patients, of which 3,000 patients developed severe CVD (stroke or coronary event) follow-up. We will train a variety of models (random forests, SVM, deep neural nets) to predict CVD within one year from a planned contact to hospital.

The modelling is currently underway, intermediary results are expected in January.

We explore whether predicting CVD is feasible using state-of-the-art technologies and a uniquely detailed dataset. This may pave the way for machine learning to act as a clinical support decision system, since we’re only training on data that is available in a live, clinical context.

Marfan syndrome is an autosomal dominant systemic disorder with connective tissue defects in multiple organ systems. Cardinal manifestations of this syndrome involve the cardiovascular, the skeletal and the ocular system. Interestingly, many cases of patients with Marfan syndrome and schizophrenia have been reported.

Discuss the etiological link between Marfan syndrome and schizophrenia

Presentation of a clinical case illustrating the comorbidity between schizophrenia and marfan syndrome. A search was conducted in PubMed database using the terms : schizophrenia AND Marfan syndrome.

Ms JW a 36-year- old single women, she had schizophrenia since the age of 20 years, she was hospitalized in our service for psychotic relapse in a context of treatment discontinuation. She had a personal history of persistence of the ductus arteriosus for which she had been operated during her childhood, a scoliosis operated and multiple pathological fractures. On mental status examination, she was distressed and hallucinated, She had disorganized thought processes and a paranoid delirium. On physical examination, she had features suggestive of Marfan syndrome such as crowded teeth, a high arched palate, arachnodactyly , hyperlaxity and a high myopia. We don’t dispose genetic evaluation for marfan syndrom because of the nonavaibility of facilities to perform genetic analysis. Several studies have indicated that psychiatric symptoms might be part of the clinical profiles of marfan syndrom. However, their relationship and underlying pathogenesis are not easily clarified.

Co-occurrence of marfan syndrom and schizophrenia might be explained by some shared etiological pathways between both disorders.
